Notre Dame - Important Updates

The University of Notre Dame has some updates that will be useful to note.

Superscoring of ACT Scores
Students submitting more than one score report for the ACT will now have their tests superscored for our evaluation. This means we will consider the highest composite score and the highest scores on each section, regardless of test date. Please note that we do not require the writing portion of the ACT.

Residential Life Policy Enhancement
Notre Dame continually seeks to solidify the residential experience as an essential component of a student's education. Beginning with this Fall 2018 matriculating class, Notre Dame undergraduate students will be required to live on campus for six semesters. Students engaging with Notre Dame's study abroad programs will have that semester/year counted automatically toward that requirement.

Changes to Tufts’ Testing Requirements and Supplement

The 2018-2019 school year brings some important changes to our application process.

First, our testing requirements have changed. Applicants must now submit either the ACT or the SAT only; we no longer require subject tests to be submitted with the SAT.

In addition, we will accept self-reported test scores in the application process and only require official scores once a student has decided to enroll.

Second, we have given our supplement an overhaul. Instead of three questions, we have moved to just two required questions which we hope will allow applicants to show us more about who they are and what’s important to them. While we no longer ask students to “let your life speak”, our hope is that the expanded “Why Tufts” question will provide the opportunity for applicants to let us know why Tufts will be a good fit for them.

You can find information about our testing and application requirements here and the 2018-2019 supplemental questions can be found here.

The University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill will no longer defer students who apply by Carolina's Early Action deadline. Instead students will receive one of three decisions: admitted, denied, or waitlisted.

We've developed a list of frequently asked questions about the waitlist, with more details about why we're making this change and how we hope it can provide clarity for students and help them make the best decisions they can for their futures.

Fordham Update: New International Student Aid Policies for 2019

Need-based Financial Aid for 2019

Fordham will offer limited need-based financial aid to some international applicants.
This new program will result in changes for all new non-immigrant visa applicants to Fordham. We will now be need-sensitive in the admission process for non-immigrant visa applicants. All students indicate their decision whether or not to be considered for need-based financial aid on the Common Application. Those applying for need-based aid must submit the CSS Profile by the appropriate application deadline for their selected admission plan (November 1 for EA/ED and January 1 for RD). Those who do not apply for aid must submit a Fordham University Statement of Funding form (available upon submission of the application) to demonstrate financial support for their study at Fordham. One of these two forms will be required to complete a Fordham application for admission.

All first-year international applicants are still automatically considered for Fordham's partial
